I got an email back from Marlin about my 336 manufacturing date. The guy said there is no chart he could send me but he did say the serial number: MR22xxxC signifies a manufacture date in 2012. No other information was given. My guess is that it was manufactured in February 2012. After that you would have to contact Remington to figure out when it was manufactured. I have been told to stay away from anything after 2006 and before 2015.
I have a Model 1895 lever action, serial number B007XXX. I'm trying to determine when It was made. The barrel is marked as a 'Model 1895' (no 'S'). The rifle has a straight stock, not a pistol grip, and is not checkered. I bought it used in 1983.

I've read on other posts in here that the 'B' either indicates the year of manufacture, or that it has Ballard rifling. Anouther post stated that subtracting the first two digits fo the serial number from 100 gave the year of manufacture, but that makes no sense with this number.
